Description

Synopsis

“Bob Dylan may be the Shakespeare of our time,” says BJ Rolfzen, Dylan’s high school English teacher. Even Shakespeare had parents and a home town. Dylan grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota. Natalie Goldberg, painter, poet and well-known writer, travels to Hibbing to examine the soil from which Bob Zimmerman sprang. Does it matter, she wonders as she heads north of Highway 61, this place that we’re from?

Mary Feidt

As a Producer for WCCO Television in Minneapolis, Mary won the George Foster Peabody Award and IRE Award for Home Health Care, a documentary film exposing the neglect and abuse of home health care agencies. She has also worked as an Associate Producer on documentaries for “America Undercover” by HBO and “Frontline” by WGBH. One of these films, Without Pity: A Film about Abilities, won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Filmmaking, and another, Who’s Killing Calvert City, won an American and Video Festival Award. Her first independently produced documentary short, The Goddess of Isla Mujeres, was featured at the Women in the Director’s Chair Film Festival and at the Detroit Docs Film Festival. Tangled up in Bob is her debut as a director of a feature-length documentary.
