Synopsis

This poignant and profoundly insightful film tells the gripping story of Paul Galan, who recounts the unbelievable story of his family’s survival in the Holocaust as a child. Amidst numerous close calls to death, he and his family eventually found themselves in a labor camp in Slovakia, where they were liberated during an uprising. Soon after, they embarked on a perilous journey across the Sudetes mountains, disguised as Lutherans with falsified documents, desperately seeking refuge from kind-hearted strangers. Boy on the Run vividly recounts this extraordinary journey, including a tense night when he and his family found themselves sharing quarters with Nazi soldiers.
