Summary

This 27-minute TV documentary follows a group of young Australian Jewish singles as they venture to a ski retreat, hoping to find a Jewish life partner.

Filmmaker Josh Ben-Moshe lifts the lid on the complex world of Jewish dating, and the challenges that all young Aussie Jews must grapple with as they search for a life partner inside a very shallow dating pool. With limited options comes a dilemma:

Do they hold out for a Jewish partner, or look outside the faith for true love? The film dives into this topical discussion with a brave cast carrying differences across their connection to Judaism, religious beliefs, and sexuality.

Director

Josh Ben-Moshe presents the film on-screen empathetically after battling with these same questions himself.

In the years since, Josh has worked on productions in various roles (post-producer, production coordinator, archive producer). Josh co-wrote and co-directed the documentary ‘Yom Kippur in Lockdown’, which aired on ABC Compass in late 2020, and he gained his first sole credit when New Zealand’s Doc Edge selected his short documentary ‘Our Pandemic’ for their 2021 festival. He was a production coordinator on a feature-length documentary that will have an ABC, BBC, and cinema release in 2023. He is currently employed by Endemol Shine Australia, having been offered a permanent position. His role within the company is as a Post Production Producer, responsible for the story edit of multiple episodes of Masterchef and Married at First Sight. His ultimate ambition is to become a successful documentary writer and director.
