Khaled shares the story of a Muslim Tunisian who saved over twenty Jews during the Nazi occupation and the ongoing fight to recognize his heroism.
Synopsis
Khaled tells the story of Khaled Abdul-Wahab, a Muslim Tunisian who saved more than twenty Jews during the Nazi occupation of Tunisia. Known as “The Tunisian Schindler,” Khaled’s journey unfolds from his privileged childhood to his courageous efforts to protect the Boukris and Uzan families. Through evocative scenes, testimonies, and archival material, the film examines Jewish-Arab coexistence in North Africa during World War II and the ongoing struggle to have Khaled recognized as Righteous Among the Nations. This is a story of moral courage, unexpected solidarity, and the enduring human values that shone through one of history’s darkest chapters.
